THE HELP….. LOVED IT….
THAT IS THE ONLY ONE ON THE LIST THAT I READ.. SOME OF THE OTHERS PERHAPS ARE NOT MY STYLE AT THIS TIME OF MY LIFE……RETIRED….
I am just dying to get to Empire of the Summer Moon (Quanah Parker & the Rise & Fall of the Comanches, the most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History) by S. C. Wynne. A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize & recommended by Hampton Sides of Blood & Thunder fame, this should be a must-read for lovers of Western & American history!
Heaven is for Real is an excellent book. I highly recommend it
I have read “The Odyssey” & “The Hobbit”. I am looking forward to reading “Lionheart” by Sharon Penman about Richard 111.
Stephen King’s 11/22/63 was a good read. It revolves around the question ”
if you could go back and time and change something, should you?”.
My list would include Seamus Heaney’s “Beowulf”, re-reading “Notes of a Native Man” by James Baldwin and reading Erik Larson’s “In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror and and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin.”

4. FINGERTIPS OF DUNCAN DORFMAN by Meg Wolitzer – Who can resist a story set at the National Youth Scrabble Tournament?
5. WITCHES ON THE ROAD TONIGHT by Sheri Holman – I need a ‘scary’ title for my 2012 Reading Challenge!
6. KINDRED by Octavia Butler – historical Afro-Am fiction, in preparation for the Night of Books giveaway.
7. HOUSE AT RIVERTON by Kate Morton. British historical romance for fans of ‘Downton Abbey’ and for my 2012 Reading Challenge.
8. BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY by Ruta Sepetys – WWII era historical fiction on 2011 best books lists.
9. SWAMPLANDIA by Karen Russell, best-seller on 2011 best books lists.
10. ALAS, BABYLON by Pat Frank – Classic apocalyptic novel reprinted in 2005.
