We Want to Fund Your Education Project!

Many of our blog posts are designed to inspire and encourage you to buy books the green and giving-back way.

This one is different. This time, we want to give-back directly to you through our Literacy and Education in Action Program (LEAP) grants. Feel free to jump ahead here and go right to the grant link (or continue reading about why and how the grant process works).

There are over 793,000,000 adults on our planet who are illiterate and over 67,000,000 children who are not able to attend school.*

I don’t know about you, but I cannot imagine one billion of anything. So one billion people that cannot read, write or have the chance to learn in school is shocking, frightening and incredibly disturbing to me.

At Better World Books, we believe literacy and education are a right for all people. We believe in the right to read. And because of that, we donate a portion of all revenue to game-changing education organizations.

But we don’t want to be the only ones identifying, sourcing, and deciding which non-profits to support, so we are opening up the grant process to you – our amazing customers, book donors and fans.

Here is all of the information you can share with your favorite education and literacy non-profits: LEAP for Literacy Grant Application. The deadline is fast approaching – April 9th!

We are also excited to announce that we will be rewarding at least two LEAP grants for non-profits: one selected by the Better World Books Literacy Council and another selection by YOU! You can vote on the Reader’s Choice Award May 21-June 10th. Stay tuned…
