2021 Reading Challenge: Memorable Memoirs

You’ve made it to month three of our 2021 Reading Challenge. Congrats! We hope you’ve already enjoyed a couple of great reads in January and February. This month, we’re diving into some nonfiction with a memorable memoir.

You’re welcome to choose any book in the memoir category to fulfill March’s theme but if you need a little bit of help, we polled our Facebook and Instagram followers for the title suggestions you’ll see below.

Educated

By Tara Westover

When we polled our followers for a memorable memoir, this title showed up the most! Educated follows the childhood of Tara, who’s born into a survivalist family and has to fight for her education.

The Glass Castle

By Jeannette Walls

Another title with a resounding number of recommendations from our followers, The Glass Castle tells the story of surviving a willfully impoverished, eccentric family.

Look Me in the Eye

By John Elder Robison

Robison shares the story of being misunderstood throughout his childhood with Asperger’s long before a diagnosis for his condition existed.

Know My Name

By Chanel Miller

Know My Name tells the story of Chanel Miller as she fights for identity outside of “Jane Doe” and justice after a traumatic sexual assault.

The Measure of a Man

By Sidney Poitier

A New York Times Bestseller, The Measure of a Man tells the story of Poitier’s celebrating life and career in cinematic history.

None of these titles speaking to you? That’s okay! We’ve put together an entire category on the home page of our website highlighting memorable memoirs. Head over there for more options!
