It’s back… the Better World Books “Year of Books” contest is back and better than ever!
How is it better, you ask?
1. Well first of all it starts today, whereas last year’s contest 
is over.
2. This year there will be 2 grand prize winners compared with only 1 lonely winner last year. That’s twice the winners! These lucky ducks will not only get a year of books, but they will also get a snazzy Better World Books t-shirt AND a fabulous Better World Books tote bag.
3. But wait, there’s more… last year we had 9 second place winners… this year we’re doubling the fun and giving a whopping 18 second prizes which consist of one $10 Better World Books gift certificate, the snazzy BWB shirt and the fab BWB tote.
“Enough,” you may say, “I’m in. Now how the heck do I enter?” Well this year we’re all about more. Last year there was only one way to enter… this year there are two:

As usual those of us who prefer not to be on twitter or facebook (especially facebook) are left out in the cold.
How do I get the credit for my friends entering? Is it only for those I specifically invite by email on the “invite” tab, or does posting about the contest on my FB status work also? Can’t figure out how you would know which are my friends then?

@Anne — you do have to “invite” people through the invite tab in the contest application. Alas we don’t have anyway to track other invites, but we still appreciate those! 🙂

I would love to participate, but I do not do facebook, twitter or other social networks online. I see you are making HUGE assumptions about the way we “all” interact online. It’s too bad that you are so narrow-minded about the way we can enter the contest, even though we are big supporters of your website, and buy a lot of books from you!

I would love to enter. I order books all the time. But some of us do not twitter or facebook. Some of us own businesses and could spread the word that way.
Fine, but what does ‘a year of free books’ actually mean?
Yes, some of us are not interested in “social” networking and so have no way to particapate. However, I think you people are so great, I’ll just buy my own T-shirt.
It takes two minutes to sign up on twitter and facebook, so everybody can enter the sweepstakes. There is nothing holding anybody back from entering this contest. The sense of entitlement is amazing.
Nobody is getting special treatment here. It is not “unfair”.

I agree with all the non Facebook posters who support Better World Books but feel the contest entry method is unfair. True it takes less then 5 minutes to join Facebook but I should not have to join a social network just to enter a contest.

I enjoy the ease of ordering books on-line from BWB.The price and service is great and my current bookstore, Angus & Robertson in Melbourne does not know why I have not been ordering or using my account to buy books. BWB are current, up to date and most important have many university subject matter books. I love the “wishlist” too, even thou I don’t use it but once, it helps a 58 yr old to remember.
