If you are gifting books for Christmas, here’s how to ensure your order gets to you by the 24th.
- The great big shipping upgrade of December ’13. As we test out some shipping improvements from our warehouse, we have begun upgrading all shipments of used books going to destinations in the contiguous US to help orders arrive by the 24th. This means that for most US addresses, the last day to order used books from our warehouse and still receive them before Christmas has been extended to December 15th, 2013 at 10 PM Eastern Time. You don’t have to do anything different—we’ll be magically upgrading these orders behind the scenes. Just choose Standard Free Shipping as usual.
- A guide to holiday shipping. We’ve put together a timeline of dates and shipping times that will help you determine what shipping method to use to get your shipments by the 24th. It takes into account the shipping destination worldwide as well as the type of book (new, used, or Other Sellers on our website). We spent a day tacking it all into a calculator so you won’t have to. (Intense calculating detracts from holiday cheer.)
- Gift Certificates. If it’s really getting down to the wire, consider a Gift Certificate for the readers in your life. They are delivered to your email inbox quickly so that you can choose how to present them—forward it, print it, stuff a stocking with it, or tuck it deceptively inside a giant heavy box to baffle nosy present-shakers. (We like the last one.)
