Delivering Books to Kids… via Bicycle?

RfR-preview

This Thursday, a three-mile bike ride will take place in Las Vegas. But unlike your typical bike ride, this one will be taking place in order to deliver 3,000 books to children in low-income areas. And whether you know it or not, you contributed to this huge book donation!

We donated over 3,000 books to Nashville-based Ride for Reading for their annual third annual Interbike book delivery, during the course of which volunteers will load up a backpack with books and then pedal their way to schools on the route, distributing them to kids in the area.

Tropicana Avenue will be shut down for the event, which begins at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and ends with a lot of books in the hands of a lot of children. In fact, about 650 kids should walk away with 3 books apiece.

By purchasing books from Better World Books, as well as donating used books back to us, you deserve thanks for helping us make this donation happen. We’ll have more about the Interbike book delivery here on the blog and on our Facebook and Twitter pages, so keep an eye out to see more about your support having real impact for kids.
