“The Hour of the Unexpected” by John Shea
“A Christmas Carol” is a classic pick and I love “A Wrinkle in Time” – gave that series to my neice a few years ago along with the Little House books, but I’d also consider: “Where the Wild Things Are”, “The Children’s Story”, or “The Poisonwood Bible” – depending on the age of the person receiving the gift.
The Encyclopedia Britannica or any other one. And then one more for every succeeding year.
