It’s International Bacon Day!

We could give you an in depth story of how International Bacon Day came to be with all the details about when it started (2000), where it all began (Bedford, Massachusetts) and when it happens (the Saturday before Labor Day, so today). We figured we could also give you a bunch of cool bacon facts about how long bacon has existed (since 1500 B.C.E.) or how much bacon we eat (17.9 pounds a year if your an average American). But we decided it was best to just get to the part where we celebrate bacon. Sizzle up some salty slices and check out these great bacon-related reads.

1. The Bacon Cookbook

The book contains over 150 bacon recipes. That won’t quite get you through half a year, but it’s a good start.
