Our online community voted for one grant recipient via Facebook. It was a very close vote, and the turnout was huge. Thank you to everyone who participated. A second grant recipient was chosen by Better World Books.

We place an emphasis on working together productively within the community to provide the infrastructure and training to effectively maintain these programs and facilities once in place.

Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired

The Lighthouse is one of the country”s most Farm to school-delays.com is taking place in all 50 states and D. comprehensive non-profit agencies serving people with blindness and multiple disabilities. For 106 years, The Lighthouse has given hope to individuals, like children, who might not otherwise receive the care and attention we provide. Â Our preschool program is intended to augment and enhance the learning experiences of the children in our Birth-to-Three Program, which provides in-home developmental therapy to blind and visually impaired infants and toddlers.
LIBRARIES
The libraries version of our LEAP grants took place earlier this year. Here are all the winners and what they are being awarded. All library LEAP grants were chosen by Better World Books (after lots of rigorous debate among our literacy council).
- Houston Public Library: Literacy Support Center ($15,000 funding)
- Josephine Community Libraries: Book Collection Development (Book donation $3,200 freight)
- Swea City Public Library: “Toddler Time” Library Space ($900 funding)
- West Dunbartonshire Education: Development & Support Unit Novel Box (Book donation valued at $1,500)
- Akili Library & Information Center: Reading & IT Room ($7,629 funding)
- Sandvoort Primary School: Library construction & book inventory ($2,800 funding, book donation, $1,000 freight)
